I haven't been doing too good this past week...but hopefully with a better schedule this week things will get better. :)
Wish me luck!
My diabetic retinopathy isn't that bad. Seriously. I sobbed for like a half an hour after the doctor told me there was evidence of it. But the pictures she showed me of my eyes weren't nearly as bad as I was envisioning. To put things in perspective: Photos courtesy of an informational brochure from my doctor's office. My eye pictures look most like the eye on the left--the normal eye--except that there are 2 little spots on the vessels. Those are the aneurysms. But compared to the one in the middle or the one on the right--where the aneurysms have burst and blood is just leaking into the eye--I'm doing a-okay. Not to say it isn't still a bad thing, but not super bad yet...I need to reverse it!

Diagnosed in May, 1987And going strong! I'll try to update this page each time I see my endocrinologist or get test results so you can see what some of these tests are, what they mean, and how I'm doing! Archives
